How a Foundry project works
We plan the work before we price the work. Here is every step from first call to final walkthrough, what you provide and what you get back.

A better build starts before construction.
Successful projects don’t begin when the tools arrive. They begin with clear priorities, a well-defined scope, realistic expectations, and important decisions made at the right time.
Foundry approaches every project with an emphasis on preparation. We work to understand your goals, coordinate the design, identify potential challenges, clarify the budget, and establish a realistic path forward before construction begins.
That early planning leads to better decisions, clearer communication, fewer surprises, and a smoother experience from the first conversation through the final walkthrough.
What you can count on
Foundry is new, so instead of a gallery, here are the commitments every project is built on. They go in your construction agreement.
A written update every week
Work completed, what's next, decisions needed, schedule status and any cost changes.
No surprise charges
Every change is priced and approved by you in writing before the work happens.
The owner on your job
You work with Zach from first call to final walkthrough, not a rotating cast of project managers.
A real finish
A documented punch list, warranties and care information handed over at closeout. No contractor fading out at the end.
The Foundry Process
A clear process builds better projects
01 — PROJECT INQUIRY
Tell us what you’re planning.
Complete our project-inquiry form with information about your home, goals, approximate investment, desired timing, and current design status. We’ll review the details and determine whether Foundry may be the right fit.
Client provides: Project description, location, budget, timeline and design information.
Whether you’re remodeling, adding onto your home, or building something new, the experience depends on more than the finished product. Foundry brings planning, coordination, and clear communication to every stage so you understand what is happening, what comes next, and what decisions need to be made.
02 — INITIAL CONVERSATION
Make sure the project and partnership align.
We’ll discuss your priorities, expectations, timing, and current level of preparation. When appropriate, we’ll schedule a site visit to better understand the existing conditions and what the project may require.
Client receives: An initial assessment and a recommended next step.
03 — DESIGN AND PRECONSTRUCTION
Plan the work before pricing the work.
When additional development is needed, Foundry provides paid preconstruction services and can coordinate with your designer, architect, engineer, and trade partners.
This stage may include scope development, constructability review, preliminary scheduling, selections, allowances, trade pricing, and identifying potential risks before construction begins.
Client receives: A more clearly defined scope, budget direction and construction plan.
04 — PROPOSAL AND AGREEMENT
Put the expectations in writing.
Once the project is sufficiently defined, Foundry prepares a detailed proposal outlining the scope of work, pricing, allowances, exclusions, and anticipated schedule.
After the proposal is accepted, the construction agreement establishes the responsibilities, payment terms, change-order process, and other project expectations.
Client receives: A written proposal and construction agreement.
05 — CONSTRUCTION
Build with clarity.
Foundry coordinates the work, trade partners, deliveries, inspections, decisions, and day-to-day details involved in construction.
You’ll receive a written update each week covering completed work, upcoming activity, decisions needed, schedule status, and potential cost changes. Urgent issues are communicated as they arise.
Additional work or scope changes are documented and approved in writing before proceeding.
Client receives: Owner-led project management and consistent communication.
06 — COMPLETION AND CLOSEOUT
Finish the project properly.
As construction concludes, we complete a detailed walkthrough, document remaining items, and coordinate the final punch list.
Once the work is complete, Foundry provides applicable project information, care instructions, warranties, and final documentation.
Client receives: A completed project and organized closeout—not a contractor who disappears near the finish line.
